[GT Navs] Navs Weekly News

Greetings, everyone!

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

-Instead of having Nav Night this week, we will be attending Maze at the First Center Theater. Jim Munroe is an illusionist who uses his illusions to share his testimony as well as his life as a cancer survivor. The show is also linked to a philanthropy called Be The Match, where you can sign up to donate bone marrow. This is a great opportunity to partner with Cru and other campus ministries in furthering the gospel in a unique way, and also to invite your friends who don't know Christ. The doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. It is free for everyone. For more information about Maze, check out the website: http://whatisthemaze.com/.

-Intramurals are starting, and we have an ultimate frisbee and wiffleball team. Wiffleball is on Sundays at 4:00pm, and ultimate frisbee is on Sundays between 5:00pm-7:00pm. The ultimate frisbee team will be playing this Sunday at 6:00pm on the sac fields. If you are interested in joining a team or both teams, click here to sign up. You will need to sign in or create an account, and this is a different account than your Buzzport account. From there, choose either ultimate frisbee or wiffleball and search for Navigators in the team drop-down menu. The password for both sports are "navpirates." Agree to the rules and conditions and type in your electronic signature, and you are set. Talk to Ryan Youngblood if you have any questions.

-Bible Studies: The older mens Bible study is at the Pirate House on Wednesdays at 7:30pm. The older girls Bible study is at Katie Turner's house at 8:00pm on Tuesdays. Brian Gambrell and David Frederick are leading a coed Bible study on west campus. Their Bible study is on Tuesdays at 8:00pm and includes anyone freshman through senior. If you are a freshman looking for a Bible study, the guys can talk to Chris Hoffman and the girls can talk to Amber Bailey.

-Fall Conference: The Navigators Fall Conference is October 3rd-5th in Black Mountain, NC (just east of Asheville). We will be joining other Nav ministries in the South for a weekend of fellowship, worship, and equipping ourselves to living a Christ-centered life. The cost is $100 for non-freshman and $50 for freshman. You can register at blueridgenavs.com.

Have a blessed week, and enjoy this engineering joke:

One day, Einstein, Newton, and Pascal meet up and decide to play a game of hide and seek. Einstein volunteered to be "It." As Einstein counted to 100, Pascal ran away and hid, but Newton stood right in front of Einstein and drew a one meter by one meter square on the floor around himself. When Einstein opened his eyes, he immediately saw Newton and said "I found you Newton," but Newton replied, "No, you found one Newton per square meter. You found Pascal!".
