[GT Navs] Nav Weekly News 11.14.11

Hello everyone!!!

Glad to see that everyone made it past 11.11.11!!! Not that we were really concerned but  I hope you all had a great weekend!!

SPRING BREAK MEETING!! Will be this Wednesday at 7:30PM before Nav Nite. Come with your ideas! If you didn't go to the last one but still want to be involved then PLEASE GO!! It will be at the same place as last time!

Operation Christmas Child!!! I LOVE Samaritan Purse's Operation Christmas Child, because it's an opportunity to take the concept of gift-giving of the holiday seasons overseas to show children of the nations the gift of God's love. Even though it's just a shoebox of material things, I think it's part of 1 John 3:17 and Proverbs 14:31. We can pack a shoebox for a boy or girl, and the age ranges are 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14.

THINGS WE NEED:
standard size shoeboxes
$7 per box for shipping/project costs
rubber bands
wrapping paper (optional...but it makes it cute!)
gifts!!!!

gift ideas:
TOYS
small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with
extra batteries), Slinky, etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES

OTHER
hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
A PERSONAL NOTE
In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. (If you include your name and address, the child
may write back.)

NAV NITE is in Room 301 of the Student Center. This week Joshua Harkey will be speaking. He is leaving us after this semester to follow the Lord and what He is doing in India for 6 months and this will be the last time to hear him speak. Harkey was our president last year and is super awesome. So if you don't know him, shame on you because he is awesome and you should. So take this opportunity to remedy that terrible fact! :)

There will be Prayer Night  at 4 PM in room 332 of the Student Center on Mondays. They will be meeting every week to intercede for our ministry, our campus, and our nation. Prayer is powerful so please come by and join in with the body of Christ.

VOLLEYBALL!! We are playing Tuesdays at 9PM in the CRC on the 4th floor. If you are playing then don't forget to be there and if you aren't then you should come cheer us on!! We are currently 1-1!!  :)
Donny
is our compassion child that we as Navigators have decided to sponsor. He is a wonderful child who we will help better his life. At Nav Nite there will be a board that has his letters, and more information. We recently received a new letter from Donny. If you would like to help support him, we pay compassion $32 every month. If you could bring just a couple of dollars to Nav Nite, there are enough of us to support him. Please help us support him!

If you are not in a BIBLE STUDY but would like to be, please email Nathan Evans at nevans3@gatech.edu or Chelsea Bailey atchelseabailey15@gmail.com
