[navs-main] NavNews 10/12/09

Hey Guys!

I hope you're all doing well and surviving classes!

We had a blast over Fall Break at Fall Conference with our fellow Navigators in the region. It was a great time of fellowship, learning, and fun. If you missed out, our MLK Retreat is the first weekend of the Spring Semester. Start marking your calendars now!

Here are some other upcoming events you should be aware of!

  • Come out to NavNite this week on Thursday at 8pm in Student Center Room 343 for some teaching, fellowship, and worship!
  • Intramurals are starting up again! If you're interested in playing soccer, the games are going to be on Sundays at 5pm. Come out and play or cheer for our team!
  • Join us for Monday Morning Prayer at the Navigator House at 7am. Rides and breakfast are provided!
  • Mark your calendars for our Camping Trip! We're going to take a break from the city on October 31st! It's going to be intense! ;-)
  • If you're interested in serving in our community, come on out to SAY Yes! Hang out with some awesome kids and help them with their homework! This is on Mondays-Wednesdays 3-6pm. Contact Joel McKoy for more information (joel.mckoy@gmail.com).
  • Also, the Battle for the Burger Bowl is coming! We'll be meeting up against Campus Crusade for some friendly sporting competition! This will be on the afternoon of October 24th.
It's so easy to get caught up in our own lives as we go about our day, but let's try to focus on loving others this week. May we take up Christ's example of humility and put our neighbors' interests first.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Philippians 2:3-4

Have an awesome week!
